You have been subscribed to a public bug by Marc Deslauriers (mdeslaur): Binary package hint: update-manager
Since installing Ubuntu 10.04 yesterday, I have not been prompted to install updates. Obviously, since it has been a couple of months since 10.04 was released, there must have been some security updates released, which I should be prompted to install daily. This is not happening. A thread with others who have this problem is here - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1493777. I ran sudo apt-get update manually, and am now being prompted to install 196 updates (including a large number of security updates). Clearly then, apt-get update is not being run automatically when it should be.
