I see exactly the same thing as Daniel Kulesz mentions at #5. The problem occurs at 1024x768, 60hz and 70hz, and goes away at 75hz (Thanks for finding and reporting this, Daniel!) I could get rid of the boot freeze, but not of the (very intense) flickering, until I ran into Daniel's finding. For certain patterns of display activity, the screen was flickering so strongly that it was mostly unreadable. I'm running 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device [8086:2562] (rev 01) on a Intel motherboard (Pentium M Intel reference motherboard).
