Public bug reported:

This bug happens after updating Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04
The shutdown button is frequently not available.
The Computer hangs at logon screen during shutdown, in this situation no
terminal is available.
If I open a terminal within the session I can shutdown with "shutdown now -P"

A 2nd failure happens sometimes: additional drives cannot be mounted
(USB drive or HD)

The Ubuntu 10.04 installed on my 8GB-Stick shows the same problems, but only
on my DELL computer.
Therefore I believe that this bug has something to do with my hardware but
otherwise 9.10 had worked properly!

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
