I haven't had the specific issue with 10.04 that I am using now, although I have not been using it much recently.
Both my father and I have problems with device drivers not being detected (2 fresh installs of 10.04 on and one upgrade from 9.10) different computers, and ubuntu failing to "safe graphics mode" which doesn't work until computer is restarted.. I had similar problems (to this bug) when I was running gentoo a few years ago.. basically the nvidia drivers need to be reinstalled after a kernel upgrade, and most package managers don't fix the nvidia drivers upon upgrade of kernel... an old module is still present. -- hardware drivers device manager for Nvidia does not give meaningfull error message when linux-headers does not work with module https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377222 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
