Please try the newest version of HPLIP (1.7.3) from upstream:
http://hplip.sourceforge.net/
There is a completely automatic installer avaiolable (self-extracting
archive) which automatically installs everything needed from the
internet and afterwards uninstalls your old HPLIP and replaces it by the
current version. HP has tested it on many distributions including
Dapper.
After that remove and recreate your print queues. Does this help?
