I have 4 HP Touchsmart TX2 laptops with AMD Turion X2 processor Model TX2-1209AU and 1 HP Touchsmart TX2 laptop with AMD Athlon X2 processor. On all machines, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid does a shutdown but does not power off the machine. I tried the upstart job in comment #3 of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video- ati/+bug/569271 but that did not solve the issue. This bug is new to Lucid. Shutdown was successful in Karmic. In Lucid, must hold the power switch in order for each laptop to actually turn off. I have all updates applied.
