I experienced the problem when I had two monitors active: With the Windows key held down, each click of the mouse wheel rotated "upwards" (to zoom in) causes a seemingly random jump of the cursor about two inches to the left, right or down.
After disabling the external monitor the problem does not occur. After re-enabling the external monitor the problem re-occurs. Switching Appearance Preferences | Visual Effects from Extra to Normal does *not* fix the problem. The workaround described above *does* fix the problem. Specifically, in 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx), I do: $ sudo aptitude install compizconfig-settings-manager $ ccsm In the CompizConfig Settings Manager window, click the Enhanced Zoom Desktop icon. Click on the Mouse Behaviour tab. De-select Sync Mouse. ** Attachment added: "My X log file" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/52257967/Xorg.0.log -- cursor centers on desktop when zooming https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154719 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
