Public bug reported:
The newer 30" LCD monitors do not have built-in scalars they only
support two resolutions 2560x1600 (native) and 1280x800. If the input
signal is not one of the above then nothing is displayed. With the
desktop install versions either of these is not an option so no video
is output after the initial grub screen. Support needs to be added for
either one of the above to allow home users to install ubuntu who do not
have another monitor available.
