@ Stenten I may have caused some misunderstanding. This is all from Maverick and it DOES boot into desktop. The errors and such I have posted about stop plymouth splash from showing, delay boot (sometimes considerably) and throw up allsorts of errors/warnings but yes, it does boot which is why it shows suspends.
Before reading this, I did happen to remove the ureadahead package completely which solved the problems. It was booting at normal speed and plymouth splash was showing and NO actual errors or warnings displayed at all. The intel/vesa conflict/pass off DID still show just before the splash appeared but otherwise booted as I would expect. I have since reinstalled the ureadahead package and it wen back to the previous behaviour of no splash and warnings/errors. As of now, 16:42 GMT there has been no ureadahead update so I'll see what happens if and when that comes in. Regarding swap space, I did have to check but yes I do have swap set in my fstab and also gnome-system-monitor shows 2GB swap space (though not being used) and the computer also has 3GB of it's own memory. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot-System Monitor.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/52434615/Screenshot-System%20Monitor.png -- conflicting fb hw usage inteldrmfb vs VESA VGA https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/609044 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
