Hi, I installed yesterday Kubuntu Lucid AMD64 on a new optiplex 980. I got no sound at all. I found this bug report page and followed the instructions given by David Henningsson : I installed the linux-alsa-driver-modules from his ppa and rebooted the system. Unfortunately, the problem is the same. Here is the output of the command "dmesg | grep -e hda -e ALSA -e HDA ":
