Thanks for your comment. Dasher is clearly very interesting technology
and very useful for some groups. Some work has been done in Gnome to
make the assistive technology preferences more general and flexible so
that distributions and even users can add their own applications easily.
Unfortunately that was not ready for Gnome 2.18 and therefore Ubuntu
7.04. With an increasing variety of tools like GOK, onBoard, Orca and
LSR this flexible implementation should appear soon. In the meantime we
have chosen to focus on a single application for each use case, and feel
that onboard covers a similar use case to Dasher. with onboard pre-
installed you can use the computer well enough to install Dasher if you
wish. Doing so will place an entry for it in the Applications menu.
