Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs
The Ubuntu 10.4 LTS live cd is not working on my recently acquired HP pavillion a1410n. It doesn't run when I insert the disc even though the dvd drive has auto play enabled and when I reboot with the disc in the dvd drive my monitor always automatically goes into sleep mode. I've tried the disc on a laptop and it works just fine. So the problem is not the disc itself. I installed windows 7 right after acquiring the pc and had no problems with that install. it's not likely a problem with dual- boot since the pc had an XP/Vista dual-boot when I bought it. My only thought is to purchase the recovery cd's from Hp start over. There is a BIOS update available but only for the copy of XP that came with the system. Could the problem be with the system's BIOS? Or has anyone encountered this problem before and know any other way around this. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've been using Ubuntu since 8.04 and have been a huge fan ever since. ** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 10.4 live cd not working on hp pavillion a1410n https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/612424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
