** Summary changed: - [ZTE MF626] 3G connection drops everytime it switches between 3G and 2G + [ZTE MF626] Connection drops everytime it switches between 3G and 2G
** Description changed: Binary package hint: network-manager - Network-Manager drops the connection whenever the modem tries to switch the modes between 2G and 3G. + Network-Manager drops the connection whenever the modem (ZTE MF626) tries to switch the modes between 2G and 3G. After the connection is dropped I cannot "dial" the connection again (because it disappears from the network-manager and stops responding) then it's necessary to unplug/plug the device so it can be recognized. Looking at the /var/log/messages, I got the following output: Aug 2 01:04:09 tifa pppd[3123]: Modem hangup Aug 2 01:04:09 tifa pppd[3123]: Connect time 52.5 minutes. Additional Information: I'm currently using Ubuntu 'Lucid' but I'm experiencing this bug since Ubuntu 'Karmic' in my desktop and my netbook aswell. Besides, I think the Network-Manager is lacking an option to change manually between 2G and 3G networks. + ---------------------------------------------- + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: network-manager 0.8-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-24.38-generic 2.6.32.15+drm33.5 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Architecture: i386 CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] Arquivo ou diretório não encontrado Date: Mon Aug 2 03:31:51 2010 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) IpRoute: - 10.64.64.64 dev ppp0 proto kernel scope link src 187.119.80.33 - 10.1.1.0/24 dev br0 proto kernel scope link src 10.1.1.1 - 169.254.0.0/16 dev br0 scope link metric 1000 - default via 10.64.64.64 dev ppp0 proto static + 10.64.64.64 dev ppp0 proto kernel scope link src 187.119.80.33 + 10.1.1.0/24 dev br0 proto kernel scope link src 10.1.1.1 + 169.254.0.0/16 dev br0 scope link metric 1000 + default via 10.64.64.64 dev ppp0 proto static Keyfiles: Error: [Errno 2] Arquivo ou diretório não encontrado ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=pt_BR:pt:pt_PT - LANG=pt_BR.utf8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=pt_BR:pt:pt_PT + LANG=pt_BR.utf8 + SHELL=/bin/bash RfKill: - 0: phy0: Wireless LAN - Soft blocked: no - Hard blocked: no + 0: phy0: Wireless LAN + Soft blocked: no + Hard blocked: no SourcePackage: network-manager -- [ZTE MF626] Connection drops everytime it switches between 3G and 2G https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/612443 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
