Works fine for me:
$ dpkg-query -W -f '${Version}\n' tuxtype
1.8.0-1ubuntu1
$ dpkg -L tuxtype-data | grep el/LC_MESSAGES/tuxtype.mo
/usr/share/locale/el/LC_MESSAGES/tuxtype.mo
$ tuxtype
(selecting "Options" > "Setup Language" > "Greek" ==> displays Greek interface)
