Have the same problem in 10.04. Network manager can't connect to WPA2 network 
with passkey.
In 9.04 it was possible to connect with wicd, so I tried to use it instead of 
default netman. Result the same, but more interesting (see screenshot). Looks 
like near me exists another wlan with hidden ssid, but with 4-letters name (my 
has 6 letters in ssid). And then I am trying to connect it connects to other 
wlan with my pass... As a result I receive "ERROR: Bad password".
May be it can help to locate the problem...
