Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-backports-modules-wireless-lucid-generic
A couple of times now my wireless (eeePC 1101HA) has just failed to work after booting, and won't work again until I reboot. After I reboot it's fine. This last time I ran dmesg after booting and finding it wouldn't work and the following relevant-looking text was there: [ 214.712899] WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-backports-modules-2.6.32-2.6.32/debian/build/build-generic/compat-wireless-2.6/net/wireless/mlme.c:276 __cfg80211_auth_remove+0x61/0xd0 [cfg80211]() [ 214.712913] Hardware name: 1101HA [ 214.712918] Modules linked in: aes_i586 aes_generic binfmt_misc rfcomm ppdev sco bridge stp bnep l2cap vboxnetadp vboxnetflt vboxdrv fbcon tileblit font bitblit softcursor psb drm_psb agpgart i2c_algo_bit dm_crypt joydev snd_hda_codec_realtek snd_hda_intel snd_hda_codec snd_hwdep snd_pcm_oss snd_mixer_oss snd_pcm arc4 snd_seq_dummy snd_seq_oss snd_seq_midi snd_rawmidi snd_seq_midi_event snd_seq snd_timer ath9k ath9k_common snd_seq_device uvcvideo mac80211 snd videodev psmouse serio_raw btusb ath9k_hw ath bluetooth v4l1_compat soundcore atl1c cfg80211 led_class i2c_isch snd_page_alloc eeepc_laptop lp parport video output pata_sch [ 214.713115] Pid: 10, comm: events/1 Not tainted 2.6.32-22-generic #36-Ubuntu [ 214.713123] Call Trace: [ 214.713151] [<c014c3d2>] warn_slowpath_common+0x72/0xa0 [ 214.713187] [<f8250b71>] ? __cfg80211_auth_remove+0x61/0xd0 [cfg80211] [ 214.713226] [<f8250b71>] ? __cfg80211_auth_remove+0x61/0xd0 [cfg80211] [ 214.713239] [<c014c41a>] warn_slowpath_null+0x1a/0x20 [ 214.713279] [<f8250b71>] __cfg80211_auth_remove+0x61/0xd0 [cfg80211] [ 214.713318] [<f8250bf3>] __cfg80211_auth_canceled+0x13/0x20 [cfg80211] [ 214.713359] [<f8440af5>] ieee80211_mgd_deauth+0x125/0x150 [mac80211] [ 214.713400] [<f8446449>] ieee80211_deauth+0x19/0x20 [mac80211] [ 214.713438] [<f82502e8>] __cfg80211_mlme_deauth+0xd8/0x100 [cfg80211] [ 214.713478] [<f8253901>] cfg80211_conn_do_work+0x151/0x1f0 [cfg80211] [ 214.713517] [<f8253a59>] cfg80211_conn_work+0xb9/0x140 [cfg80211] [ 214.713532] [<c013eff3>] ? finish_task_switch+0x43/0xc0 [ 214.713546] [<c016369e>] run_workqueue+0x8e/0x150 [ 214.713586] [<f82539a0>] ? cfg80211_conn_work+0x0/0x140 [cfg80211] [ 214.713599] [<c01637e4>] worker_thread+0x84/0xe0 [ 214.713612] [<c0167740>] ? autoremove_wake_function+0x0/0x50 [ 214.713624] [<c0163760>] ? worker_thread+0x0/0xe0 [ 214.713635] [<c01674b4>] kthread+0x74/0x80 [ 214.713646] [<c0167440>] ? kthread+0x0/0x80 [ 214.713659] [<c0104087>] kernel_thread_helper+0x7/0x10 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: linux-backports-modules-wireless-lucid-generic 2.6.32.22.23 Regression: No Reproducible: No ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-22.36-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-22-generic i686 AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.22.1.
