Public bug reported:

Nautilus only changes the window icon when traversing to (or refreshing)
a directory, but does not trigger the icon check when switching between
left pane and right pane with "extra pane".

A very simple way to prove this is to open your home folder, hit F3 to
open the extra pane, observe that the window icon is a "home". Then open
the "Desktop" directory in one of the panes. Notice that the window icon
is now a magenta desktop icon. Focus the other pane which is your home
directory; this changes the title but the icon is still a magenta
desktop icon.

     Importance: Undecided
