Public bug reported:

I am no longer able to suspend or resume with the Ubuntu Maverick
Kernel. The latest being 2.6.35-15-generic. Lucid's Ubuntu kernel
worked flawlessly and stopped working upon upgrading to Maverick. While
using the mainline kernel 2.6.35-020635-generic, suspend/resume works
flawlessly. I have not been able to locate the Ubuntu kernel patch
causing the issue. Please advise if you need any more information. It
is reproducible consistently. I can not even get the laptop to suspend
as it locks up and I have to cold boot from there.

cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.35-15-generic
root=UUID=b73c7c09-57f7-402d-982f-a4ff75548f06 ro
crashkernel=384M-2G:64M,2G-:128M quiet splash

cat /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume
RESUME=UUID=057a5169-b3fb-4202-91f6-876de88c4aa9
