3) What I expected to happen is when I create a .odt file in openoffice
writer (please see attached example.odt file) input white dot symbols,
and export the file to PDF, both Evince and Adobe Reader for Linux show
the same thing.

4) What happened instead is that in Evince, each white dot is an
infinity symbol, while Adobe Acrobat for Linux accurately reproduces the
white dot.
