Clicking on the "Item URL:" link gives me a page that says:

This listing () has been removed, or this item is not available.

Clicking on the first link in the e-mail AND the link following the
"Tracking: 999..." gives me a page that says:

Your request could not be processed at this time
Help- opens in a new window or tab
Sorry, you've hit a speed bump!
Please try again in a few minutes. If this problem persists, report an
issue to eBay support.
        Error Code #50301

I get that message a lot when clicking links in these e-mails...

You HAVE changed the server/link in between May and July:

Link to pay for an item bought on 5/16/10:

Pay for it
http://payments.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CheckoutProcessor&item=310219189996&transactionid=0&quantity=1&level=1&editAddress=0&newpurchaseok=0&refererpage=6

Link to pay for an item bought on 7/15/10:

Pay for it
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11003.m44.l1160/7?euid=8987856918294889575&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fpayments.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FCheckoutProcessor%26item%3D330451620291%26transactionid%3D454620149014%26quantity%3D1%26level%3D1%26editAddress%3D0%26newpurchaseok%3D0%26refererpage%3D0%26ssPageName%3DADME%3AB%3AEOIBSA%3AUS%3A1160

As you can see, the addy is different ("rover" instead of "payments"), and
characters are shown differently ("%26" instead of "&", "%3D" instead of "=",
etc.).

So, in this process, my e-mail program (Eudora 7, running under Wine in
Ubuntu 9.10) and browser (Firefox 3.6.8) are unable to interpret the
links properly.

HOWEVER, Google Chrome will accept the pasted link for any of the above-
mentioned links and show the proper page.

This tells me it is a problem with Firefox.
