Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-vesa
I'm running maverick on a 2.6.35-15-generic kernel. This is a Dell X300. When xorg tries to load the vesa driver, it errors out (also see attached Xorg.log): (EE) VESA: Kernel modesetting driver in use, refusing to load $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu maverick (development branch) Release: 10.10 $ apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-vesa xserver-xorg-video-vesa: Installed: 1:2.3.0-3build1 Candidate: 1:2.3.0-3build1 $ lspci ... 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02) (I would've run ubuntu-bug, but I had to boot another kernel to log this. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-vesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [maverick] driver won't load on kms kernel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/619990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
