I attach boot.messages file produced immediately after booting with quiet splash deleted. Please note when I boot this way it boots to a CLI log in screen, not to the gui. I believe this file, which incidentally appears to be similar to the BootDmesg.txt file produced by Apport and attached to the original report, should contain all the information needed to proceed with debugging this problem. My reason for believing this file should contain the information you require is based on the following extract from "man dmesg": "DESCRIPTION dmesg is used to examine or control the kernel ring buffer.
The program helps users to print out their bootup messages. Instead of copying the messages by hand, the user need only: dmesg > boot.messages and mail the boot.messages file to whoever can debug their problem." ** Attachment added: "boot.messages" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/619008/+attachment/1499823/+files/boot.messages -- Ubuntu 10.10 freezes when loading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/619008 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
