Public bug reported: Something happened recently on my Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop running amd64 Maverick fully updated, and now Ubuntu thinks I'm on a desktop computer. I'm using the latest kernel in the repos, 2.6.35-16-generic.
The laptop has had no problems with the battery not being recognized before on previous version of Ubuntu. I haven't had time to do a fresh install to check if it's still present then. This is what seems to be missing: - No "on battery" tab in Power Management (http://twitpic.com/2fkm53) - Battery icon will no longer display in the panel at all - No notifications related to battery whenever I unplug or plug in the power cord - No notifications anymore when I change the brightness using Fn + F6 / F7 - Screen doesn't automatically dim when on battery Sorry if this is a duplicate, and sorry I didn't know which package to file it under. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Laptop battery not recognized on Maverick https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/620414 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
