Sorry to re-open an old bug, not sure whether I should be doing this, but I'm having this same issue on Ubuntu 10.04 x64.
I've just set up dual-monitors on a laptop with ATI graphics, and since doing this, nautilus appears to hang on start up as the OP has described. Can't right click on the wallpaper, can't open file browser, and my machine is constantly processing. t...@maria-laptop:~$ TMPDIR=$(mktemp -d -p /tmp) nautilus --no-desktop (nautilus:21017): Unique-DBus-WARNING **: Error while sending message: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) t...@maria-laptop:~$ nautilus -c running nautilus_self_check_file_utilities running nautilus_self_check_file_operations running nautilus_self_check_directory running nautilus_self_check_file running nautilus_self_check_icon_container running nautilus_self_check_file_utilities running nautilus_self_check_file_operations running nautilus_self_check_directory running nautilus_self_check_file running nautilus_self_check_icon_container t...@maria-laptop:~$ -- Nautilus hangs on login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185483 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
