Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: apt

When I ran APT the last time successfully, the command hung at
"Unpacking", so I decided to 'killall -9' it and blame the problem on an
infinite loop.

The next time I ran APT, even with nothing but Firefox and the terminal
running, I got the attached message (along with any equivalent messages
in the GUI programs that depend on it) and keep getting it, every time I
run the programs.
