Public bug reported:

Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release: 10.04

I've installed ubuntu 10.04 on a external usb har drive. On boot are
shown some errors:

[ 5.684042] ata3.00: qc timeout (cmd 0x27)
[ 5.688603] ata3.00: failed to read native max address (err_mask=0x4)
[ 15.856057] ata3.00: qc timeout (cmd 0x27)
[ 15.860599] ata3.00: failed to read native max address (err_mask=0x4)
[ 26.028105] ata3.00: qc timeout (cmd 0x27)
[ 26.032694] ata3.00: failed to read native max address (err_mask=0x4)

See dmesg

At ata3.00 is connected my internal sata hard disk. This problem causes a long
boot time.
I tried different option in the bios to solve this but none is working.

On the internal hard disk is installed windows that is working without
problems.

With ubuntu 9.04 the error was:

ata3.00: revalidation failed.
