You should be able to do it from a terminal with a command, then. It
seems your Update Manager is set to not show new versions, so just doing
this will be fastest.

Note: before you upgrade, back up your files. You never know if
something could go wrong, it's best to be safe.

To upgrade, open a terminal (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal),
and run the following command:

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

This is will take a while. When it finishes, you'll have Ubuntu 10.04!
