Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

On a new Ubuntu install, the installer assumes that the user name will form the
hostname, which is often not desirable. The user should be provided the option
to enter a hostname of their choice.
e.g. allow me to name my system something other than 'randall-laptop' (not that
that's necessarily a bad name for yours though.)
