I followed the steps to reproduce this bug, but don't get the described behavior. If I right-click a second (thrid, fourth...) time, the quicklist does not loose the name-entry at all. This is with trunk. I also get the same behavior with 0.2.34. Tested it on a laptop with an intel GMA X3100 GPU.
Could you check if you still get this bug with unity 0.2.34? If not I would like to mark it as "Fix Released". Looking at the commit-log of unity, between releases 0.2.32 and 0.2.34 there was a fix added for double menu-open, which is the only quicklist-related change.
