Unfortunately, disabling the Ubuntu Firefox add-on pack does not fix the issue 
for me.
I initially tried setting dom.ipc.plugins.enabled from "false" to "true". This 
worked until I restarted Firefox.
I then disabled the Ubuntu FFox add-on, no change. Reverted dom.ipc.plugins to 
false, no change.

ubuntu64:~$ uname -a
Linux ubuntu64 2.6.32-24-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 20 14:21:58 UTC 2010 
x86_64 GNU/Linux

Up to date on patches.
