Calibration should take less than 1 minute to run.  If it doesn't improve the
first time, try once or twice more.  If that still sucks, the windows ntrig
control panel has another calibration routine that actually gives a bit of
feedback (I don't really have a large enough sample space to decode the output
reliably).  And if that says all is good and it still sucks, look for firmware
updates and complain to the manufacturers ;)

As Henrik says, some traces might be helpful.  Considering this is a possibly
unknown model, please post the contents of the rdesc nodes
(/sys/kernel/debug/hid/*:1B96:*/rdesc).   Wasn't that supposed to be collected
when you created the bug?  In addition to evtest, be prepared to collect some
samples from usbmon, so that we can confirm the thing is consistent with the
older devices.

Also sorry if I missed it, but what firmware version is installed on
your machine?
