Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

Ctrl-Alt-V has always been KDE's default keyboard shortcut to bring up
the list of clipboad entries maintained in klipper. It has worked
unfailingly in every version of KDE that I have used since roughly KDE
1.x in roughly 1999.

A recent problem with Kubuntu Lucid 10.04 has been that I often have to
enter Ctrl-Alt-V *_twice_* before the applet comes up.

I have not changed the keybinding in Kubuntu Maverick 10.10. The default
keybinding of Ctrl-Alt-V is listed as active in | System Settings |
Shortcuts and Gestures | Global Keyboard Shortcuts | Klipper .

The applet does not come up when I enter the keyboard shortcut. If I
mouse-click on the icon in the "system tray," it does come up. However,
I prefer to use a mouse as little as possible and always prefer keyboard
shortcuts.

If I attempt the Ctrl-Alt-V keyboard shortcut while KDE's focus is on a
konsole (terminal) session, the string "^[" (an escape character ???)
appears on the command line for each press of the shortcut.

Background: as a matter of laziness, I use one /home partition and one
~/.kde profile for all versions of kubuntu on my various machines. I
sometimes wonder if the one ~/.kde profile is "a bad thing." The Ctrl-
Alt-V shortcut works in every other Kubuntu Instance on several
machines. With the one reservation listed above on this, my most
powerful (and therefore most heavily-used) machine, I have never
experienced problems.
