Well nearing 24hours later and 'compat-wireless-2010-09-12' has certainly fixed my wifi dropouts. I agree with Franck, Is there a chance that linux-backports-modules-wireless-maverick-generic shipping with Ubuntu 10.10 final gets updated to this version ?
