Hi Serge, Since i could not uninstall, i could not reinstall, and i could not upgrade, I decided to be bold and break the installation much more severely in the hope that it would trigger a more effective repair/reinstall.
I renamed /usr/bin/mysql; /usr/bin/mysqladmin; /usr/lib/mysql; /usr/sbin/mysqld; /usr/sbin/mysqld-akonadi; /usr/sbin/mysqlmanager Restarted the computer. Immediately it ran the package manager and reinstalled the mysql package. Problem solved, and no additional configuration was required to return the SugarCRM or other mssql dependent packages to full operation.
