I can also confirm this problem. This never used to happen to me. The only difference is that I am now using WPA instead of WEP security. This may have something to do with WPA_Supplicant if other people have this issue and they also use WPA.
I tried restarting networking and no luck. I looked in syslog and saw some items that makes you think the wireless device no longer exists after hibernate.
