there is something i want you to try, since this is similar to another bug that was reported.
sudo -i rm -f /boot/grub/menu.lst (now edit the file /boot/grub/device.map and replace "/dev/hda" with "/dev/sda") update-grub shutdown -h this should fix up grub and power off the machine. now boot ubuntu and see it things are better. if it doesn't work try resetting the bios to factory defaults and power off and on the machine. as a last resort: "update-initramfs -u" and reboot. if that doesn't work, report it, it implies that your bug is unrelated to bug #94981 if it does work, at which point did it? -- kernel 2.6.20-12/13-386 on Dell Inspiron 8200 means 10 minute boot time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/98782 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
