I was running the kernel from Lucid because 2.6.35-22-generic (tested
with -19-generic and -21-preempt too) crashed every start without any
message except "loading crashkernel".

Currently I'm unable to test any further since I broken my Linux box
during tests and it requires format / reinstall. I'll get back to it
when I'll have some time. I'd be very grateful if you tell me how to
update my alsa drivers to more compatible version, I'll try it out as
soon as I install new system.

Oh, and I will be able to do it as soon as fglrx package is fixed, 2
days ago it was badly broken - which was probably the cause of kernel
crashes and update problems. I have ATI Radeon 4870, fglrx is required
by compiz.
