Public bug reported:

The "Connection Established" icon has three problems.
  1. It shows as unconnected wire to a wall jack, rather than one that is
        connected!
  2. The icon does not follow the principle of "Exception Reporting", ie.
only use an eye catching icon when there is a problem that must be
dealt with. The fact that the wired connection is connected
requires no action on my part, so i believe an icon that is not
prominent is best. The icon used on releases previous to U 10.04
was unobtrusive and therefore i believe a better choice.
  3. The right click on this icon is non-standard, ie. the icon cannot be
positioned on the panel, as almost all the other icons can.

The "Trashcan" icon also is non-standard, as the right click has no properties
option, and therefor it can not be positioned on the panels.
