** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal When I type into a gnome-terminal window the response is often, but not always, sluggish. It can take a second or two for key-presses to be reflected in the display. This machine was upgraded from Lucid, where this problem did not manifest. I am reporting this against gnome-terminal because that is the only place I have experienced this problem. However, on this machine I have not used any other text-based tool other than gnome-terminal, so the problem might be more general. Of course, this is slightly untrue; I am typing this into the browser (Chromium), and there is no sluggishness at all. There is one other keyboard-related symptom on this machine that might - help triage: when the machine is restarted it gets to the animated - Ubuntu splash page then hangs. Pressing escape (to see the console - output) then tapping other keys, any keys, allows the restart to - proceed. It normally needs three key presses or so, but I haven't done - any serious analysis :) + help triage. Sometimes when shutting down it hangs while stopping + rabbitmq. If I press Ctrl-Alt-Del it tries to restart, but it then hangs + again. If I press Shift (for example) it will perform a few actions and + get stuck again. If I press Shift again nothing will happen, but if I + press another key it will progress a little further before hanging. One + more key-press (of a different key again) will get the machine to + restart. Of course, this may be unrelated and worthy of a separate bug + report.
