Hi!
I tried to reproduce it, but I can. After reporting this bug in a forum I have 
got an advice to make this:
sudo chmod -R 744 /home/myname/Pictures
and after that I realized I was the owner, and I could see the pics. But change 
the user account the other user still could not see them, only can see an empty 
folder, despite she is in the authorized group.

Originally I tried to change permission on Permissions tab in
Preferences. The preferences of Nautilus in gconf-editor is
show_advanced_permissions.
