I'm sorry - but you can't just disregard everything that I stated just because think the log indicates something different.
There is definately a bug here... otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to come to launchpad. I just spent a few hours reinstalling maverick from scratch to verify that this issue happens with the latest ISO image, since I had the same issue with the beta release Please re-read what i said, as it explains the issue I am experiencing.
