Public bug reported: Binary package hint: coreutils
Lucid 10,04.1 with all current and proposed updates. Specifically I suspect the proposed coreutils package. Assuming 10,04.1 Lucid files are still using the MD5SUM checksums, I have downloaded 5 different files (CD & DVD) and all checksums have failed. I have never had this happen befor, even on a single file, much less 5. Note that I am using the pre-released coreutils package 7.4-2ubuntu3. I even retried one file and had the bittorrent (transmission) verify the downloaded file, and the checksum still came up drastically different. Suspect the new coreutils download.
