Using openoffice 3.2.0-7ubuntu4.1 in Lucid I experience this problem only in NFSv4. If I unset the SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING (setting to 1 or 0 does not work) variable file locking for NFSv3 and NFSv4 continue to work fine and I no longer get the 'Error saving to shared file' messages in NFSv4. Not sure why this is..
