Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.35-22-generic
In Maverick Release Candidate (in both Netbook and Desktop i386) I get a black bar on either side of the screen with resolutions other than default. Here is my video card info... 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub (rev 09) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) This is on a Lenovo G530 laptop with a 2.0 ghz dual-core processor and 2 gigs of ram. I believe this bug is related to the kernel because with older kernels (2.6.35-6 for example) I do not have this problem. I'm not running Maverick RC at present because the black bars on either side of the screen makes my laptop basically unusable at my preferred resolution (800x600). I have a screenshot of the situation which I'll attach. I hope it gets fixed before Mavericks release later this month. The current kernel version of Maverick RC is 2.6.35-22 at which I'm experiencing this problem. Thanks for your time. You can contact me at my email address.
