Now i understand the difference, the failsafe session use vesa with the 
xorg.conf.failssafe so the crash did not appear. Created the xorg.conf and use 
the agpmode 1 i can log into the desktop session, the crash comes a bit later. 
In full desktop the visual effects was on "normal" that cause the crash. With 
completely switched off desktop effects the system run stable.
Desktop effects, aka 3d mode like compiz crash the system and displays bogus 
with unity. The prior radeon driver from 10.04 was okay.
