Thanks, I added myself to the cc: list for the upstream bug.

I don't have many hopes unless the bug is in a library supported
by other than the rhythmbox developer.

The main rhythmbox dev (Jonathan Matthew) seems to have moved on or is
preoccupied with other work; rhythmbox is effectively unsupported now as far as
I can tell (see e.g. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=523162).

Subject: [Bug 654262] Re: Unable to eject ipod - "volumes on the media are busy"

thanks for the bug report. I have reported this bug to the developers of
rhythmbox and its most likely that previous logs had nothing useful in
them and rhythmbox developers will ask for someother logs. please
subscribe to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=631387 so that
you could reply to the upstream requests.

Status in The Rhythmbox Music Management Application: Unknown
Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: Triaged

Bug description:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Rightclick->Eject on iPOD entry fails, claiming "one or more volumes on the
media are busy"
(this appears in a pop-up error box).
Also an assertion error appears on the terminal: ** (rhythmbox:12782): CRITICAL
**: itdb_splr_validate: assertion `at != ITDB_SPLAT_UNKNOWN' failed
The ipod itself still says "Connected".

However, the pop-up message saying the ipod is busy appears to be incorrect, or
at least no longer true immediately afterwards; fuser -m <mountpoint> shows
nothing, and

lsof -p <rhythmbox pid> | grep -i pod shows no reference to the mounted ipod.
(unlike in bug 315077, where lsof showed rhythmbox still referencing the ipod
mount point).

I used the latest development maverick build from 9/28/2010.
