Okay, attached is my .xsession-errors file. I can confirm that the shutdown/restart/logout problem occurs regardless of whether I bring up the menu with the applet or my computer's power button - I click "Shut Down" or "Restart" from the window that pops up (Example:"Are you sure you want to close all programs and shut down the computer?") it closes, but it doesn't do anything - it practically acts as if I clicked "Cancel".
