I downloaded yesterday and installed Maverick. After waiting several hours using suspend and resuming, t's my pleasure to inform you that the bug seems finally to be GONE!!
GONE! Thank you for all your supporting work. With this, I do not need anymore to use X in a degraded mode and it seems I have now a new and bright computer.
