Checked unity netbook 10.10 on the thinkpad (radeon m10 9600). The unity desktop appears as solid backpic, but withput crash. When moving the mouse to panel solid white boxes without text appear. Things in the upper invisible panel can be triggered to show their menüs. The switch symbol upper left, shows up the application icons and other symbols. Switches between correct view and plain backpic.
