Microphone is not working in Feisty for quite sometime now as well. It was working before but updates probably broke it even the latest sound module updates didn't fix it yet. Sound is fine but recording/capture and the microphone is definitely not working. My Hardware is a Creative Vibra 128 on Xubuntu Feisty with the Mic Volume set on MAx and the 20dB Boost on.
There are other bug complaints out there that confirm this please review them.
